Rob Bigwood is a Community Resilience Flood Team Leader in Congresbury.
He signed up to the scheme in spring 2012 and with 20 years experience in maritime protection felt his skills were best suited to Flood Team leadership.
Rob joined the network to offer his experience for the benefit of his parish:
“The Community Resilience Project will benefit our community in a number of ways. From my personal view it is a re-assurance that there will be well trained local assistance available in the event of an emergency”.
Rob and his fellow flood team members have already rehearsed a new community flood plan as part of Exercise Coventina – a live multiagency exercise and are reviewing and developing the plan to include surface water provision. He is currently working with the Council’s Flood Risk Management Team to investigate floods affecting the community.
