How does the Network function?
The Network is built from volunteers and local community groups who form community resilience teams in their local area. Teams are based around locally identified risks and response requirements such as flooding, evacuation and shelter, transport and welfare.
How are community resilience teams run?
Teams are managed by a team leader and coordinated at the local level by area coordinators. At the strategic level a Community Resilience Management Group coordinate the functions and link in with the wider emergency management network through the Local Resilience Forum.
What roles do volunteers play?
Volunteers can choose to take a strategic or coordination role by becoming a member of the management group or an area coordinator. If you want to be more hands on, then you can volunteer to be a leader or team member in one of the following Community Resilience Teams:
- Flooding
- Evacuation and Shelter
- Transport
- Safety
- Welfare
- Emergency Feeding
